BiographyDr. Yogesh Chander is an Associate Professor in Physical Education, Department of Education, Chairperson, Department of Physical Education; and Director of Sports at BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPS Women’s University), Sonepat, Haryana, India. He is a national gold medalist in volleyball. His educational qualifications include Ph.D. from LNIPE Gwalior, M.A. in Physical Education from Panjab University Chandigarh, a Bachelor of Physical Education from Jiwaji University Gwalior besides a one-year Diploma in Coaching Volleyball with an ‘A’ grade from Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala. He has eighteen years of teaching experience; he has written/ edited four books; published 26 research papers in journals; contributed thirteen chapters in edited books, and guided students for doctoral research. Before joining BPS Women’s University, he served as a ‘Volleyball Coach’ at Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, Haryana. He has an excellent service record as Volleyball Coach; he has produced international players, national medalists, and more than 70 national and inter-university level players. He has attended more than sixty National and International conferences, seminars, workshops and presented papers in India and abroad, including Canada, USA, Israel, Russia, Japan, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Oman, Turkey, etc. He acted as an invited speaker/ resource person for various seminars, conferences, workshops, training programmes, faculty induction programme, and refresher programme. He is a subject matter expert for Physical Education MOOCs at the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), developed the SWAYAM-MOOC module for the ARPIT course in Philosophy offered by AICTE; developed module for Inclusive Education paper for MA/ M.Ed. students in collaboration with CIET-NCERT; and has developed video modules in Physical Education for Higher Education Commission, Haryana. He is a master assessor and paper setter in the sports sector under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF). He has made a significant contribution to the designing of the curriculum and courses of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Diploma in Education (D. Ed.), Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.E.) three years programme, Bachelor of Physical Education & Sports (B.P.E.S), Master of Physical Education (M.P.E.S) two years programme and Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) two years programme in BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya. He is currently the Chairperson for the Under Graduate Board of Studies (UGBOS) and Post Graduate Board of Studies (PGBOS) in his University's Department of Physical Education. He is a member of the drafting certificate course in volleyball coaching at the University of Mumbai. He is also a member of the Under Graduate Board of Studies (UGBOS) at Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana. As an examiner and paper setter, he is associated with various universities and institutes, including Delhi University, Kurukshetra University, Maharishi Dayanand University, Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Manipur University, Chandigarh University, Gurugram University, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jammu University, Central University of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh University, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, and National Institute of Sports Patiala etc. His special interest includes coaching volleyball, research, digital pedagogy, adapted physical education, women and sports, folk games, sports training, Olympic and Paralympic games
