Collaboration between a group of universities in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Taiwan has given rise to the Game Sense for Teaching and Coaching Conferences convened as smaller, more locally focused events run in one day or two day formats. The 2015 Game Sense for Teachers and Coaches Conference at The University of Canterbury will continue this tradition of more regionally focused for a for meeting, sharing and developing research and practice in game based approaches, leading into the Physical Education New Zealand leadership seminars November 19-20.

The 29th ACHPER International Conference Program Committee invites submissions for presentations. The Conference theme is ‘Values into Action - A Brighter Future' with the sub themes listed below. Please indicate on the Conference Submission Details which of the sub themes best aligns with your presentation and nominate the length of time for your proposed session. Presentations will be structured in concurrent sessions of 20 minutes, 45 minutes or 90 minutes in length. You are encouraged to make your presentation as engaging and interactive as possible. The Program Committee reserves the right to allocate presentations to specific sub themes and to nominate the type of session based on the content, time and space available.

David Gutierrez was a keynote speaker. Presenting: "Impact of pedagogical models in the teaching of sport".
Several references to the TGfU SIG and especially to the works of Len Almond and Joy Butler were included. On the final slide he dedicated this conference to both individuals.

Rethinking the Ontology and Epistemology of Game-Based Approaches (GBAs)
At the 21st Biennial Conference of ISCPES on the 16th December 2021, there will be a panel session on "Rethinking the Ontology and Epistemology of Game-Based Approaches (GBAs)". Invited speakers Naoki Suzuki (panel chair), Richard Light, Steve Mitchell and Ashley Casey will share their work and research on: Actual Teaching and Assessment in Game Units, Game Sense αs the GBAs, Game-Based Approaches: the Adaptations in the USA, and Professional Development for Teachers to Incorporate the GBAs (respectively).
