Game Based Approach and QuestioningThis webinar is presented by Shane Pill (Flinders University, Australia) and Brendan SueSee (University of Southern Queensland). Hosted by Ellen Gambles (University of Sunderland, UK).
In this webinar they will use The Spectrum of Teaching Styles (Mosston, 1966; Mosston & Ashworth, 2008) to discuss the cluster of teaching styles used in Game-Based Approaches (GBAs) (Pill et al., 2021; SueSee et al., 2016; SueSee et al., 2020). They will consider the notion that asking students questions may not be guided discovery, or any other type of discovery process. Depending on the objective of the teaching episode, discovery of new understanding may not be the operant behaviour the teacher is seeking or being used by the students.
