Mission StatementAustrian universities have a long-standing tradition of educating sport science and PETE graduates. However, the teaching and application of pedagogical models in practice is often still focusing on rather traditional approaches. Having taught at different Austrian universities and implementing GBAs in University Education one goal will be to further disseminate GBAs through teaching in PETE and Sport Science programs. In addition, the expansion of GBAs is further fostered by several research projects trying to implement GBAs in different Austrian sport contexts such as professional sport clubs, sport associations coach educations programs or correctional settings.
On an organizational level the Austrian Society of Sport Science especially the section sport pedagogy will serve as an important connection point to different sport associations. Further, the cooperation with members of the German GBA community will be further established to strengthen and align agendas. |
